Opportunity Snapshot

Not only will you join Wells Fargo, a Fortune 50 company, but you also will join the Small Business Cash Management (SBCM) group, a dynamic, high energy, ambitious team focused on customer value, team experience, and the bottom line. This position offers you the opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience as you engage in a wide variety of analytics, work with diverse software applications, and interact with professionals who have strong expertise. Your success in this role could set you up to pursue multiple career paths within SBCM or beyond in Wells Fargo.

While fully half of this position involves database production activities, you also will invest a significant amount of time showcasing your analytical savvy and taking on some intriguing challenges. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have at least three years of SQL and data analysis experience on account or customer-level datasets with diverse and extensive transaction volume. We're looking for a professional with solid database skills used for database marketing, strong business sense, and the ability to translate and simplify analytical data into useful business information. Along with strong SQL skills (ideally in Oracle) and MS Excel, SAS is a plus.

As an employer, Wells Fargo recognizes that people are our greatest competitive advantage. We offer an open, supportive environment and numerous learning and development opportunities to help you grow personally and professionally. We also make sure that all team members feel valued, do work that is challenging and makes a difference, and enjoy great benefits, rewards, and recognition.

What Else You'll Bring to the Table

In addition to the qualifications detailed above, you'll need:
  • A four-year degree in Computer Science, Finance, or Accounting, or a comparable amount of education and experience.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and quality standards while multitasking in a fast paced dynamic environment.
  • The ability to express yourself well both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in the financial services industry and/or a good understanding of economics and the banking system is a plus.

What's in It for You

Career development -- it's not unusual for professionals in SBCM to develop and grow into other areas of the Division or throughout Wells Fargo; in fact, this position is open because the incumbent was promoted into another opportunity in the company. Analytical skills are highly valued here, and you'll learn some sophisticated skills and techniques from top professionals. The team includes members with extensive banking experience in a variety of positions of responsibility, advanced degrees, including one PHD, and experience doing a variety of financial and statistical analysis.

Challenge and variety -- you will tackle a broad variety of data and financial projects that will provide key information for senior management's decision making, and you'll work with extremely large data sets. Some have millions of records and represent transactions totaling trillions of dollars a year.

Great work environment -- the Small Business Cash Management (SBCM) group is helping drive double digit revenue and profit growth in the small business sector at Wells Fargo. SBCM has built remarkable success by fostering a team-oriented atmosphere that encourages new ideas and active contribution. Wells Fargo's reputation is based not only on leadership in financial services, but also on award-winning employment practices.

The "best of both worlds" -- you'll enjoy the entrepreneurial energy of the Small Business group as well as the resources and stability of a financial services leader with more than 150 years of experience.

Excellent compensation -- in addition to a competitive salary and MBO-based bonus potential, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes all you would expect plus a few truly outstanding features, including a 401(k) as well as a cash balance plan.

  • Bring a creative approach to creating solutions for internal customers.
  • Deal effectively with changing priorities in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment; what happened yesterday is not necessarily what will happen tomorrow.
  • Pay robust attention to the details, but also grasp the bigger picture and how those details fit into it.
If this sounds like the right mix of challenge and opportunity for you, and you meet the minimum qualifications, we want to hear from you!
